Cause

SUPPORT THE FESTIVAL

Music festivals are more than entertainment—they create connection, belonging, and shared joy. They bring people together, strengthen communities, and support well-being. For 44 years, the Hornby Festival has proudly done just that.

Like many festivals across Canada, however, we face rising costs and increasingly uncertain funding. While some festivals have been forced to close, the Hornby Festival remains committed to supporting Canadian artists, amplifying underrepresented voices, and bringing our community together through music, art, and celebration.

WHY FESTIVALS LIKE OURS MATTER

1. Supporting Mental Health and Well-Being
Festivals foster connection, creativity, and shared experiences that reduce isolation and strengthen belonging.

2. Building Community
They bring people together, creating shared memories that strengthen community pride and resilience.

3. Supporting Canadian Artists
Festivals provide vital performance opportunities, helping artists build sustainable careers while ensuring diverse voices are celebrated.

4. Strengthening Rural Communities
In rural communities, festivals connect local culture with the broader Canadian arts landscape while showcasing regional voices.

5. Creating Economic Benefits
Festivals generate seasonal employment, support local businesses, and contribute to the local economy.
